Sunscreen for Men in Utah: Why Altitude Changes the Rules
4 min read
Altitude and snow raise UV
UV exposure rises as you go up in elevation, and fresh snow reflects much of it back at your face. A day on the slopes can be harder on your skin than a day at the beach.
What to look for
Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, a texture you'll actually wear daily, and water resistance for outdoor days. Mineral zinc oxide is a good choice for sensitive or shaved skin.
How to wear it
Use about a nickel-sized amount for face and neck as the last morning step. Reapply every two hours outside, after sweating, and after time in the snow.
